"I installed every kind of speaker you can imagine in my helmet in an attempt
to get music while I cruise. I was unable to get enough volume from a Walkman
device, because they only produce .06 watts of power. Then I bought a $165 amp
to boost them to 4 watts. That distorted the speakers.
"Besides that, I felt tethered to the bike (I hate wires). So I tried infrared.
Yep, transmitter and receiver. Now I got a box strapped to the side of my 3/4
helmet.... geesh. Scrapped that idea. Then broke down and bought two sets of J&M
headsets, $185.00 each. Intercom, amps, wires, etc., were another several hundred
bucks. Found those speakers no better than the others.
"About a thousand bucks later, I decided to try the Rumble Roads.
Wow was I surprised ..... No more wires tethered me to the bike and the volume
was loud enough to hear even at highway speeds and (properly installed) they look
great!
