TRABUCO CANYON, CALIF., Nov. 24, 2009 – Powersports electronics developer
MH Instruments (MHI), has introduced a powerful and versatile 200-Watt external
stereo amplifier that motorcycle riders can use to upgrade an existing sound
system, design a new one or add a second set of speakers to their cruisers,
baggers or touring bikes. MHI pioneered stereo speakers with built-in amplifiers,
which the company introduced in 1997 as the
original Rumble Road™ speakers.
“The Rumble Road™ HD Raw200 is a workhorse amp that will always
have a place in a bike’s audio setup,” said Mauro Dresti, MHI co-founder. “It’s
such a versatile star performer and looks so good chromed, riders will want
to keep it around for use on their next bike,” Dresti said.
Explaining the new 200-Watt stereo amplifier’s versatility, Dresti said
MHI’s custom chromed, high-power HD Raw200 can be used:
- as a stand-alone amp to power personal stereos – including
MP3, satellite and CD players – and a pair of fairing- or externally
mounted speakers
- with factory-equipped or aftermarket stereos, from car stereos,
to satellite and marine radios, to CD changers
- to make an existing audio system better by upgrading the amp
or by adding a second pair of high-power-handling speakers
- in saddlebags or fairings, or displayed openly – anywhere
on the bike that maintains good airflow for optimal performance
The HD Raw200 amplifier’s compact size adds to its versatility. The billeted
and chromed aluminum case, together with its integrated mounting bracket that
doubles as a heat sink, measure 3.9 inches wide by 5.3 inches long by 1.6 inches
deep overall.
Engineered for the demanding environments of motorcycles, the HD Raw200 is
feature-packed, with built-in conveniences designed to cover most installation
scenarios. Foremost among these built-ins are the HD Raw200’s high-gain,
stereo-bridged amplifiers, each of which produces approximately 70 Watts continuous
(100 Watts peak) output into 4 Ohms per channel at 13.6 VDC. Bottom line? 200
Watts peak output per system.
Installation conveniences built into the HD Raw200 include an on/off relay
for remote switching; a designed-in universal line-level input feature for
compatible hookup with most stereo installations, including CD changers, satellite
radios and marine radios; universal high-level inputs for added boost; a ground
loop isolator for easier wiring and sound enabling; and a power filter to reduce
noise from harsh electrical systems on bikes.
The HD Raw200’s state-of-the-art but still “off-the-shelf” surface-mounted
internal circuitry promotes audio equipment compatibility, reliability and
durability. The amp can be wired directly to any onboard 12-Volt source using
standard RCA connectors packaged with the amplifier.
MSRP for the HD Raw200 stereo amplifier is US $299.95. A complete
kit for fairing-based
bikes includes two 5.25" coaxial speakers and acoustic foam baffles for
$349.95. For additional product information, including how to order, visit www.mhinstruments.com,
