Newest Generation of MH Instruments’ Motorcycle Speaker System Drives Optimal
Stereo Performance – Even From Low-Output MP3s — Version
4.0 Rumble RoadTM Speakers Feature Upgraded Amps for 60% Higher Voltage Gain,
Surface-Mounted Circuitry for Added Durability
TRABUCO CANYON, CALIF., Oct. 15, 2002 — Powersports electronics manufacturer
MH Instruments (MHI) announced today that it has begun shipping its fourth generation
of Rumble Road™ amplified stereo speakers, designed for motorcycles, all-terrain
vehicles (ATVs), snowmobiles and other powersports applications. New higher-gain,
integrated amplifiers and streamlined surface-mounted circuit boards translate
to more volume pumped through the system’s high-end Blaupunkt™ speakers,
better performance when paired with low-output MP3 players and other audio devices,
and added durability.
“In the spirit of continuous improvement, we changed out some of the amplifier
components of the Rumble Road speaker system – primarily to get better performance
out of low-output MP3 players and other personal audio devices,” said MHI
President Mauro Dresti. “As a result, the newest generation of Rumble Road
stereo speakers is noticeably louder for both high- and low-output stereos.”
MHI increased its proprietary amplifier’s voltage gain by more than 60 percent
– from 20 to 33. “A low-output MP3 player produces about half a volt,”
Dresti explained, “so volume from these devices is lower compared with other,
higher-output personal stereos that easily produce twice as much. Now, MHI’s
upgraded design provides ubiquity, ensuring full-power output from any device
and making MP3s sound better even at freeway speeds.”
In addition, MHI has upgraded its speaker system’s internal circuitry to
surface-mounted components affixed by a local ISO9002 contract manufacturer. “Surface-mounted
components reflect the latest electronics technology and add to product durability,”
Dresti said. “Because surface-mounted components hug the circuit board,
they are that much more likely to withstand the sustained vibration of a rumbling
bike over the long haul.”
Easily installed on the handlebars of most motorcycle cruisers and ATVs, MHI’s
integrated Rumble Road “Premium” speaker system works with any MP3
or other portable stereo featuring a standard mini-plug headphone jack to provide
high-quality sound either on the go or while parked. The proprietary design features
integrated amplifiers housed in standard spotlight enclosures enhanced with stainless
steel grilles.
The “Premium” amplified system delivers powerful, clear audio response
at 46 watts peak power per channel into highly efficient 4-inch Blaupunkt coaxial
speakers. A non-amplified version (Rumble Road “Limited”) is available
for use with existing car stereos.
The chromed Rumble Road “Premium” motorcycle speaker system retails
for US $279.95. The speakers also are available in black powder-coating. A complete
kit includes speakers, mounting hardware, wiring and a clear installation guide.
