MH Instruments' CrankCase™ Stereo Volume Control/Power-Switch Combo Simplifies On-the-Go Motorcycle Audio Use in Compact Design
— Developers of original Rumble Road™ amplified speakers for motorcycles add audio driver functionality to lineup of rider-friendly products for portable/car stereo setups.

TRABUCO CANYON, CALIF., Aug. 29, 2006 – Powersports electronics manufacturer MH Instruments Inc. (MHI), developer of the original Rumble Road™ dual-amplified speakers for motorcycles, has introduced CrankCase™, a compact stereo system volume controller and master power switch combination designed specifically for the demanding environments of motorcycles and other powersports vehicles.

“With CrankCase, gloved riders can quickly, easily and more safely adjust volume settings while on the go instead of fumbling around with tiny buttons or dials found on most personal or car stereo units not designed with a bike application in mind,” said Haig Balian, MHI co-founding partner.

For added convenience, the glove-friendly oversized control knob doubles as a master on/off power switch for the bike’s entire audio system.  “With an audible click you can feel, plus our signature blue LED for at-a-glance visual confirmation, CrankCase gives riders three-way feedback that the entire sound system is on or off,” Balian said. “CrankCase lets riders keep their eyes on the road, where they belong.”

Housed in lightweight, chromed billet aluminum, CrankCase’s custom compact, industrial design features a smooth-glide volume control knob to power and adjust the sound level of portable FM, satellite and marine stereo radios; MP3, CD and cassette players; and many car stereo installations on bikes or trikes. An output amplifier designed into CrankCase can drive standard portable headphones, and the device also features a built-in, replaceable 5-Amp fuse for system protection.

CrankCase’s precision-machined, chromed aluminum housing, and weather-resistant fit and finish provide optimal functionality in all climates. Easily installed on 1” handlebars using a custom-made, chromed two-piece bracket assembly, MHI’s small-footprint volume controller measures 1.7" wide by 1.8" high x 1.3" deep. “Off-the-shelf,” surface-mounted internal circuitry promotes equipment compatibility, reliability and durability. A designed-in universal line-level input feature also facilitates compatible hookup with most stereo installations.
MSRP for the chromed CrankCase is US $179.95. For additional product information, including how to order, visit www.mhinstruments.com, or call toll-free +1.866.713.2173; local 949.713.2173.
